The Room 6 students who attend our Weekly Kapa Haka group are getting a lot more confident. It is great to see them learning from the older students.
We had our first of four Hockey sessions this week. We learnt how to hold the stick correctly and the noise it should make along the ground.
On Wednesday Room 6 borrowed Mrs Oakleys Book Moo-Cow Kung-Fu Cow. This is a really funny story so we choose our favourite character and wrote about them. We then took our writing down to Room 1 and shared it with the students. They showed us their writing books and we also had milk and buddy reading with them.
We had a guest from the Ashburton District Council in to talk to us about Dog Safety. We learnt many different things and loved meeting Roxy the dog.
We are loving making up stories with our imaginations. We made up a very creative oral story about this mysterious little cup.
We have been working on our fine motor skills. This is a new activity we can choose to do during reading time.
