Weeks 9 & 10

We got to eat a delicious Hangi on the last week of term. Thank you very much to the Whānau Hui group for organising, cooking and letting us experience this.
Mr Wallis has been teaching us in Room 6 this week. We love having an extra teacher in our classroom to help us with our learning.
We enjoyed having Harold visit us week. It was great to learn about what things are healthy for our bodies and different body parts.
Miss Patrick ordered us this great writing kit. We have to go fishing and choose letters that represent fruits and vegetables to go in sandwiches.
We had Stella a Duffy Role Model talk to us about animals that are considered a pest in NZ. We all got two books each to read over the holidays. Thanks Duffy Books, we are very proud to be a Duffy School!
We have been working really hard on our math problem solving.
Last week we got to fly some kites and eat some yummy muffins that Miss Patrick made us as a treat.

Week 8

This week is Te Reo Māori week. Mr Wallis our student teacher has been teaching us a Waiata for us to sing at this weeks celebration assembly.
We created these gorgeous art works. Our creations are all different as each koru represents a member of our family.

On Wednesday we had our Netherby World Cup. It was a great afternoon completing sports activities in our whānau groups and presenting the cultural dances we learnt. A big thank you to our Home and School who gave us each a sausage and ice-block.
We created some colourful cats for our letter "c" this week. We wrote about them and used the Māori words for colours.
In maths this week we have been looking at different ways numbers can be represented. We have also been learning how to skip count in 5's.
