Term 3 Week 1

It has been great to be back at school. Room 6 has 8 new tamariki who have started this term, so we have been getting into school routines and our learning.
We have Mr Taylor our student teacher back for 5 weeks, which we are also very excited about.

This week our shared reading book was called "Little Goat's Coat". We got to paint a little goat, add fur and write a story about him.
We have also started learning about the differences in seasons. This links into our Junior School Production that we will present later in the term.

Laura was very impressed with our ball skills on Friday as we have been practising these everyday.

We had several children see Mr Wheeler for quality work this week. Everyone has been trying extremely hard.

Weeks 10 - 12

A big thank you to Kai Kids for trialing hot lunches at our school. We cannot wait until next term when we get them everyday, we are very lucky.
We had a visit from the local Fire Brigade during our topic focus on Firewise this term. It was very exciting to get to look at all the things on the truck and get to hear and see the sirens.

We have been learning about statistics. We made pictographs from the data we collected about favourite flavoured ice-creams using tally marks.
We had very been creating a range of art projects that link into what we have been learning about.
We have had several new students visiting our classroom who will be starting at Netherby in term 3. We got creative with our maths equipment this week.

We celebrated our support staff last week by presenting them with cards to show our appreciation for what they do for us all.
We enjoyed having our whānau come in and see our new maths programme.
