Term 1 Week 9

We loved having our Duffy Role Model Judi Billcliff visit this week. We were extremely lucky and got 2 free books each to take home and read.
These are the gorgeous bunnies we made this week using a range of patterns.
Blake brought us in a bag of grapes to eat this week. We did fantastic writing describing the grapes.
We had a great visit to Merle Leask Kindy. It was great to see the students who will be starting soon in Room 6.

Term 1 Week 7

Thank you to all the whānau who came to our oral language afternoon on Monday. Room 6 loved showing you our Little Red Hen action story, showing you how we draw our story maps and our character artwork.
We have started our weekly netball coaching sessions this week. We loved practising to balance, pass and catch with Brooke.
We are getting very good at reading our stories to a buddy before we go and see Miss Sloan for a principals award.
We are enjoying our new maths Bingo game Miss Patrick made us to help us with recognising dice patterns quickly.

On Thursday we had two very special guests at School. The seniors had Anne Kaye's a famous author and the whole school had Brett Fairweather the Jump Jam creator come in the afternoon. He loved the card that we made him.
We also had Merle Leask Kindy to visit. It is always great to see our friends and show them around our school. We also presented our Little Red Hen story to them and they loved it.

Kia ora,
The staff and students are very excited to be using a new online programme for sharing student work with their Whānau. Over the next few weeks your child will bring home a notice explaining how to download and set up this app. It can be used on any device that has the internet (cellphone, computer, table etc). Then we are able to share school learning activities with you on a regular basis. Students who's whānau have already signed up are very excited to share their work and read comments from their families.
Please take the time to sign up and share your child's learning with your whole whānau.
