Term 2 Week 4

We made these spiky hedgehogs last week. We had to count a certain amount of leaves and discuss the different shapes.
Mata was in helping in Room 6. She taught us some Pasifika dance. Elijah and Aiamahsea then taught Mata a small part of Kapa Haka.
We love going to Kiwi Can on a Friday. We are great at listening to our teachers and learning about how to be nice to each other and show all of our school values.
We loved using the calendars that Sarah and Mrs McCully gave us during maths today. We worked hard on our scissor cutting skills and sequenced the numbers in order. We also talked about numbers before and after.

Term 2 Week 3

We had Merle Leask Kindergarten visit us this week. We showed them what we do in Room 6 and they enjoyed playing on the playground with their older siblings.
This is our second week of wheels week. We had lots of different vechiles with wheels come to school. We went to look at the wheels and other details on them.
We also did writing about wheels. Miss Patrick brought us these yummy Wheelies biscuits.
We had Amika bring her puppies to school. Some of us were scared at first, but then we loved cuddling them.
We had a science expert come and talk to us about water. Did you know that there is always the same amount of water in the world at any one time?

Term 2 Week 2

We are in week 1 of "Wheels Week". We had Constable Chris come to talk to us about Road Safety. We practiced crossing the road safely and got to take a look at his police car.
We also made binoculars that we have been using while out hunting for wheels.

We had another very successful Discovery session. The students were very good at reflecting on our goals about using manners, showing respect and supporting each other with new activities.
We have been outside practising our catching and throwing skills. We are great at working with our buddies and enjoy the fresh air.

Term 2 Week 1

We have got straight back into our learning this term. On Monday during maths one group was learning to count sets of objects and the other group was learning numbers before and after.

On Wednesday we visited Merle Leask Kindergarten. It was great to get to play with the students who will be joining us in Room 6 in a few weeks time.

We have started discovery learning this term. We loved working with students from other classrooms. Our focus for the next few weeks is Participating and Contributing. We were awesome at this and demonstrated great Netherby Pride.
