Term 4 Week 7

This week we had Ronald McDonald come to talk to us about Road Safety. He thought we were very smart because we have already learnt about this in Term 2.  Remember to be safe when crossing roads and to wear a seat belt when you are driving.

We finished our beautiful flowers from the paintings we made last week. This was fantastic scissor cutting practice and our art work looks gorgeous.

On Friday we had some very important people sharing a special message. The were the White Ribbon. We loved having them visit and we learnt a very important message.

Term 4 Week 6

We had a very loud and scary hail storm this week. Kaleb collected some at his house, froze them and brought them to school to show us. We did writing about the hail storm.

Room 4 came to our classroom to help us learn our words this week. We had a great time with them being our individual teachers. We also read them several of our books.

We are going to be practicing our cutting skills by making flowers next week. Before we can do this we had to create a painting that we are going to cut up.  We made this by painting half a page then folding it in half and opening up the page. We also talked about reflection.

Term 4 Week 5

This week we had a short week due to Canterbury Anniversary Day on Friday.

We had a fantastic time helping out painting our new school Pasifika murals for our front gate. We cannot wait to see them finished and on display.

On Thursday we had a Grandparents and Parents morning. For this we had a whole school flower arrangement competition. We had a amazing time and were very grateful to the Whanau who came.

This is us painting our own dinosaurs. Miss Patrick read us a really good book and we got to create our own Dinosaurs and write about them. Come into Room 6 to see the finished artwork and writing.

This term we have been learning about Health and Wellbeing. We have been learning the Maori names for fruit. This is us cutting out fruit and matching them to the Maori names on a work sample for our Profile books.

Term 4 Week 4

This week we had Mr Yipadee come to visit our school. He shared his new book "It's Farty Time!" with us.

In these photos you can see us writing our words in rainbow colours. These are 2 super star students who got who placings in our School Athletics and students helping each other to complete their whiteboard stories before school starts.

This week Rooms 5 and 6 have been busy practising for our end of year presentation. We have joint classes to complete 3 cultural dances. This is Mata teaching the Pasifika group their dance moves.
Miss Patrick found us these awesome dog bones. They are great because we can check that we have worked out the equations correct by ourselves.
