Week 2 Week 3

Room 6 have been outside enjoying the lovely sunshine this week. We have been learning how to go on the obstacle course and how we should talk and support each other.
We also spent some time drawing a picture of our whanau or the things that we love.

We made a Thank You card for Mrs Swan because she kindly gave Room 6 a massive folder of songs and poems. The song we learnt this week was 'Aroha is love'.

On Wednesday Harrison came to school with his Nan's dog to show us. We loved patting Dafney and learning about dog safety.
We wrote stories about our visitor.

This week we ventured to Chertsey School for our small schools Cross Country. We did Jump Jam to warm up and then raced around the track. Miss Patrick was very proud of us and our persistence.

Term 2 Week 2

Each Monday we are learning Hockey skills. We loved playing a range of games to help our co-ordination and movement skills.

On Thursday Miss Patrick and our fantastic Teacher Aides took us on a walking adventure to visit Drummond and Etheridge. This is a store that sells tractors and other farm equipment. We also stopped in at the SPCA and learnt about animals. We loved looking at the cats. We wrote some fantastic stories about our trip, come into Room 6 to check them out.

Netherbee has been keeping an eye on our class fish while we work. They are called Goldy, Santa and Stuart.
On Friday it was our turn to present an item at assembly. Our item was based around one of our School Values of "Responsibility". We showed our whanau and peers how we take responsibility in Room 6 to help our learning. Miss Patrick was very proud of us and our performance.

Term 2 - Week 1

Welcome back to term 2. I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday. We have had a busy week in Room 6. Please make sure you have checked your child's reading folder for the notice about our production this term.

We have been learning how to manage ourselves during reading time. We are allowed to choose 2 activities from the task board while Miss Patrick takes guided reading.
We have a daily poem and above is a photo of us adding illustrations and colour to our poems. We love making up actions and sharing our poems with our whanau each day.

In the holidays Miss Patrick brought us a new class toy, as our well loved monkey George lost his tail. We now have a giraffe named Gerald. He loves going home with the students in Room 6 and having them write a story and take photos with him.
We have been learning what numbers make groups to 5 and 10 this week. We made these hands to help us.

We have been learning how to take photos on the Ipads. We have been keeping a record of the renovations to our cloak-bay and our learning adventures outside the classroom. We had a great time playing in the leaves.
